Ruslan Stefanchuk: I think that Ukraine will carry all the reforms out so quickly that the EU will be surprised by the speed

This was stated by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk in an interview with the leading French-language newspaper La Libre.

After all, according to him, Ukraine needs these reforms first of all.

"We understand that we will need to implement some very important reforms for Ukraine: anti-corruption, judicial. But today there is a will and a demand for it, and there is an understanding that it is not necessary for Europe, it is necessary for us. Because without these changes nothing will happen. The main issue for us now is victory. After the victory, you will get a fantastic synergy of Ukraine with the EU," Ruslan Stefanchuk stressed.

According to Ruslan Stefanchuk, the level of corruption in Ukraine decreased during the war, and the fight against its eradication is a priority in peacetime.

"It seems to me that this resistance to corruption has naturally matured in Ukraine. And you know that the President and the leadership of the state have absolutely zero tolerance for corruption. But our task is to eradicate it at the middle and lower levels, and we will deal with it," said the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

Ruslan Stefanchuk added that after Ukraine's victory in the war, the fight against internal enemies will begin - pro-russian parties, religious organizations that support russia and a number of others. In addition, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine believes that the EU also sees the need for some reforms within the European Union.

"Because one EU member should not block the possibility of change for the whole European community. This is dishonest, it preserves the EU model… When Ukraine becomes a member, it will offer the European Union its model, its vision, including for possible improvement of the EU. Ukraine is the "new blood" of the EU," Ruslan Stefanchuk stressed.
