Ruslan Stefanchuk: Sovereignty, Territorial Integrity, and Independence of Ukraine will never be the subject to negotiations

“There are issues that will never be discussed – the national sovereignty, state territorial integrity, and independence of Ukraine,” – stated the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, in an interview with the Italian TV channel Sky News Italia.

At the same time, the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine noted that the main thing is not the fact of negotiations but the result that can be achieved through them. However, "with each Irpin, Borodyanka, and Mariupol, there are fewer things that can be agreed upon."

Ruslan Stefanchuk singled out the main areas in which Ukraine now needs help: ????this is a strong sign of solidarity in support of EU membership, which is scheduled for June 24;
- provision of modern and high-quality weapons (MLRS systems, artillery, armored vehicles, aviation, air defense, and anti-ship equipment);
- demining of territories;
- bringing to justice those guilty of committing atrocities on the territory of Ukraine to criminal and legal responsibility;
- financial assistance for the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine.

"We want the International Criminal Court, as well as a special tribunal, to pass a fair verdict on the russian federation's invasion and to award fair compensation. After all, the damage done to Ukraine must first be compensated by the russian federation, its leadership, and its oligarchs," said the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

"I do not think that the more weapons - the longer the war, because the war is not measured by time, but by those who will win," – said Ruslan Stefanchuk, adding that the whole world sees the russian army 20 times larger than the Ukrainian. Still, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are more motivated. They protect their land and people. That is why Ukraine must be provided with the necessary quality weapons for a breakthrough in the war "so that we can push the russian army within the borders of Ukraine and expel it from our territory."

"At the beginning of the war, I addressed all the speakers of the parliaments of the European Union, all the parliaments of the G20 countries, and invited them to come to Ukraine. To date, almost 20 speakers worldwide have responded to this invitation. They came to Ukraine, addressed the Parliament, saw with their own eyes what was happening," said the Speaker of the Parliament. Taking the opportunity, he invited the Speaker of the Italian Parliament and the Prime Minister to pay a working visit to Ukraine.

"russia has promised to take Kyiv in two or three days. Today is 105th day of war. All russian troops were driven out of Kyiv, and the war moved to eastern Ukraine.

Thank you to everyone: ordinary citizens and the military, who created fierce resistance to the russian army in towns like Irpin, Bucha, Gostomel, and Borodyanka. They did not let the russians into Kyiv with their lives, " the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stressed.

Finally, Ruslan Stefanchuk thanked Europe for how much it is doing to win Ukraine this war so that this terrible war in the heart of Europe will eventually end.

"However, since the war is still going on, there is an opportunity to do even more," – Ruslan Stefanchuk said.
