On June 24, when voting for Ukraine's EU candidacy will take place, there is only one answer - "yes." - said the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine during the meeting with deputies of the Senate and House of Representatives Committees of the States-General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Ruslan Stefanchuk thanked the Dutch Parliament for its support. He also stressed that deputies of the commissions of the Senate and the House of Representatives of the General States of the Kingdom of the Netherlands were the first to call on the Government to provide Ukraine with heavy weapons.

"Today is the 106th day of russia’s war, not so much against Ukraine as against Europe and its principles and values: life, the right to choose, and the rule of law," he said, adding that Ukraine is Europe. “And we did not break, we persevere and accept this battle with dignity from the russian federation."

"Ask Dutch companies if they want to discover Ukrainian markets, Dutch farmers, if they want to cooperate with Ukrainians in our large agricultural lands, ask Rotterdam if he recognizes Odesa as a major port and if he wants to cooperate with it in one network", – the Speaker of the Parliament emphasized and added that he hopes for a positive answer.

In addition, Ruslan Stefanchuk stressed that since 2019, Ukraine has carried out a number of complex reforms, in particular, opening the land market and building the institutional structure of the anti-corruption system.

"We cannot win the war we are sponsoring. That is why it is crucial to make it economically painful for russia to fight,” he said, adding that it is necessary to analyze in which issues russia bypasses sanctions and in which ways by blocking them.”

The Representatives also stressed that the Dutch Parliament will continue to support Ukraine.

"It is unfair when Ukrainian children sit in bomb shelters, and children of russian oligarchs enjoy goods they did not contribute to," the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine summed up.
