«My call to be interested in Ukraine is sent to the whole world because we defend not only European but also world values, world law, and order.” – Ruslan Stefanchuk, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, emphasized this in an interview with Ukrainian Week.

He noted that his visit to the European Union is not intended only to convince skeptics who express certain fears or comments about Ukraine's membership in the EU:

"My mission is much broader. I want to thank those who support and reassure those who still have doubts. I want to talk openly, face to face. It is vital for us at the end of June to get an unambiguous clear legal impetus that allows Ukraine to join the family of European nations and gain EU candidate status," said Ruslan Stefanchuk, adding that all recent talks and meetings with  European colleagues have become an essential impetus for the hope of a positive outcome of the vote on 24-25 June at the European Council.

Taking the opportunity of personal meetings, Chairman Stefanchuk invited EU leaders to Ukraine to see the consequences of the "russian world" and to address the Ukrainian Parliament before MPs and the Ukrainian people.

"The tradition, of course, will be continued. The first component is my invitation to all speakers of the world's parliaments that the Ukrainian parliament is open to them. People are witnessing what is happening. I personally confirmed this invitation to the Speaker of the French Senate. Such a visit is being prepared. In addition to parliamentarians, we provide the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada for speeches by other officials. Today, the Ukrainian Parliament is becoming a platform for supporting democracy worldwide,” Ruslan Stefanchuk said.

At the same time, he stressed that Ukraine is important not only for its ties with European countries but also with the countries of the Asian region, India, China, and Africa. At a congress of parliamentarians of French-speaking countries, he appealed to colleagues from other continents to establish cooperation.

"We have received an invitation to become associate members of this meeting. We are cooperating with the parliaments of some African countries in the context of russia’s blocking the export of grain from Ukraine, which could lead to 50 million people suffering from hunger.

My call is to take an interest in Ukraine and help Ukraine is not limited to the European continent. It is aimed at the whole world because we defend not only European but also world values, world law, and order, " the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine emphasized.
