The parties discussed, in particular, the issue of obtaining Ukraine's candidacy for membership in the European Union, the continuation of military and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, as well as ensuring the issue of post-war reconstruction of Ukraine.
Ruslan Stefanchuk expressed gratitude on behalf of every Ukrainian man and woman to the European Parliament for the fact that this institution was the first to declare its support and solidarity with Ukraine in such a consolidated way.
"The European Parliament has been and remains the powerful voice of a united Ukraine," Ruslan Stefanchuk said.
For her part, Roberta Metsola assured that the European Parliament will continue to actively support Ukraine in the process of applying for the candidate country status for accession to the European Union.
"Our position is clear: Ukraine's place is among our European family," she said, adding that the European Parliament would continue to provide all the necessary support to Ukraine to counter the Russian Federation's unprovoked invasion until a joint victory over the aggressor.
"Thank you for your courage, determination and steadfastness for the sake of freedom. You have inspired the world. Your struggle for democracy and European values ??is also our struggle," said Roberta Metsola.
