Ruslan Stefanchuk stressed the importance of the European community's help to win the war with Russia and thanked the European Parliament for its support.  He also thanked the peoples of Europe who had sheltered over 6 million Ukrainians who had been forced to flee their country due to the war.

The Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada emphasized the crucial importance of providing Ukraine with high-quality modern weapons as soon as possible, continuing to put sanctions on the aggressor state and helping to rebuild Ukraine after the war.

Finally, Mr. Speaker noted that one of the main goals for Ukraine now is to get a clear prospect of potential EU membership.

"Today, we can say out loud that we are passing the European Union Exam with honors.  After all, with our behavior and resistance, every Ukrainian demonstrates that we are Europeans!", said the Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament.

In turn, representatives of the European People's Party noted the heroism of Ukrainians and emphasized that Ukraine's accession to the EU should be not be just Ukraine's aim, but the Europeans' one, as well.  They also promised to help Ukraine in every possible way.
