Parliament Chairman Ruslan Stefanchuk congratulated the wounded Ukrainian serviceman Serhiy Nikulyak and his fiancee Maria Hrabrykh on their marriage.
Their love story began 6 years ago in the city of Kamyanets-Podilsky. Together they experienced growing up, earning money abroad, and a pandemic. Now their relationship is challenged by war.
"Two weeks after the start of the war, I went to pick up my wedding dress. I didn't even get to bring it home, as Serhiy was being taken to the frontline. Then he doesn't get in touch. I am slowly dying in my soul. Two days later, he called me from the hospital. He was seriously injured,” Maria recalls with pain.
Maria came to visit him, but on her way back she got into an accident. Then, Serhiy was transferred to France, and he decided that the wedding should still take place.
"We go through fire and water together. We are infinitely grateful to everyone who helps us to make our dream come true,” thanked Maria.
