The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk met with the Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier during his working visit to Germany.
Ruslan Stefanchuk asked President Steinmeier to support Ukraine's European aspirations.
"Mr. President, all changes in this world are made by dreamers and fans. So I want to ask you: name me another EU candidate country whose support for membership in this country reaches 91?%? And these 91% are not because we are at war, but because we lay down our lives for the values ??and principles of the EU," Ruslan Stefanchuk assured.
At the same time, the Speaker of Ukrainian Parliament stated that he did not ask for any privileged status for Ukraine, but wanted legal recognition of the merits of the Ukrainian people on the path to European integration.
