Spain will impose sanctions on russia and help Ukraine with weapons till complete cease of russian aggression

This was emphasized during the meeting between the Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Olena Kondratiuk, and the Speaker of the Spanish Congress Meritxell Batet Lamana.

Olena Kondratiuk thanked the Spanish Parliament for its firm and consistent support for Ukraine's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.

"We appreciate the condemnation of russian aggression at the parliamentary level and Spain's support for relevant UN General Assembly resolutions, including the suspension of russia's membership in the Human Rights Council," she said, adding that Ukraine insisted on increasing international and sanctions pressure on russia.

"Our thoughts and feelings are with you every day, despite the kilometers that separate us. The sanctions regime and pressure on russia must be maintained until the aggression is stopped, " Ms. Batet stressed.

"We are also grateful for the significant financial, humanitarian and military assistance provided by Spain. We appreciate the active and indifferent participation of Spain in the work of the International Criminal Court to investigate russian war crimes in Ukraine. These crimes must be thoroughly investigated, and those guilty of committing them must be punished, " the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine emphasized.

Olena Kondratiuk called on Spain, represented by the Speaker of Congress, to provide the Ukrainian Armed Forces with heavy offensive weapons that would help stop the russian aggressor and liberate the occupied territories of Ukraine: "We need such assistance at this stage of the war."

"Spain will continue to provide military support to Ukraine as long as the war continues," assured Meritxell Batet Lamana.
