During her speech, President Caputova paid respect to all Ukrainians who defend their country, their future, and their right to decide on their own:
By your struggle you are also defending us, and we thank you for that. Your war is just and defensive.
Key points of President Caputova's speech in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine:
- Slovakia will take care of those who had to flee the war, of Ukrainian wives and children, as long as they need it.
- Ukraine needs not only humanitarian but also military assistance. Slovakia will continue to help in this direction and talk about this with its partners and allies.
- Slovakia will assist in documenting the war crimes of russia to make it possible to tell the whole world what happened and blame those who caused it all.
- Slovakia will also help export grain and other goods that the putin regime is cynically confiscating or blocking in Ukrainian ports today.
- On the debate concerning granting Ukraine candidate status for accession to the EU:
