The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, thanked the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, for being the first foreign leader to speak directly in the Ukrainian Parliament during a full-scale Russian invasion.
"Let me express my deep gratitude to the Polish people, to you personally, and to the Government of the Republic of Poland for their firm and unwavering support for Ukraine's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity and assistance. You have opened your homes and hearts for Ukrainians, " - Ruslan Stefanchuk said.
He informed that more than three million Ukrainians have found refuge in the Republic of Poland. The fraternal Polish people responded to the trouble that came to Ukrainian homes.
"Such noble deeds are never forgotten," Ruslan Stefanchuk stressed.
He reminded that Ukrainians dream of gaining full membership in the EU, and expressed hope that in the near future the European Council will make a strategically important decision to grant Ukraine the status of a candidate for EU membership.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine also stressed that Ukraine is a loyal friend of Poland, as well as Poland is a good friend of Ukraine!
“We also appreciate the active efforts of friendly Poland to bring our country closer to the highest goal - gaining EU membership!” - Ruslan Stefanchuk expressed hope.
