"On behalf of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the entire Ukrainian nation, I would like to thank your Parliament, which on April 21st, 2022, was the first in the world to recognize russia's war crimes against Ukraine as genocide. Just as Estonia was the first in the world in 1993 to recognize the Holodomor as a genocide of the Ukrainian people, "said Olena Kondratiuk, Second Deputy Chair of the Verkhovna Rada, during a speech at the Riigikogu.

The Second Deputy Chair noted that Ukraine does not want this to happen again in other European countries: "That is why we must stop this bloody war and genocide committed by the state and the people, which was covered by the pandemic of rashism - modern neo-Nazism."

"We, the people of the free world, where human life and dignity are the highest values, are obliged to unite and stop this Putin’s invasion. Friendly Estonia proves that it will be with us until the end of this fight," said Olena Kondratiuk.

She also told the stories of children who met the horrors of war: "I want to tell you about Vyacheslav - a boy from a large family from the Ukrainian Donetsk region. At 18, he became the father-guardian of four younger siblings. They become orphans. Their mother died in Vyacheslav's arms under Russian fire. Her last words: "I'm fine."

"I can tell many more such real stories about six-year-old Vlad, a boy from Bucha, whose mother died of exhaustion during the occupation and who carried candy to his mother's grave so that she would not go hungry," said Olena Kondratiuk.

The Second Deputy Chair reminded the story of a 15-year-old girl from Popasna, who took away the severely injured adults by car with bullets shot through her legs despite any pain: “None of them could drive anymore because russian servicemen fired their vehicle. And this girl got behind the wheel and went as long as she could until they were rescued. "

"Mariupol, Bucha, Hostomel, Irpin, Borodyanka, Kramatorsk, Kharkiv, Chernihiv… Every time we experience all these stories together with those whose lives were forever ruined by the russian invasion, we try to hold back tears and rage," said the Second Deputy Chairman.
