The event were attended by First Deputy Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniyenko, Chief of Staff of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Vyacheslav Shtuchny, management and servicemen of the State Protection Department of Ukraine.
Welcoming the servicemen on their professional holiday, First Deputy Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniyenko noted the contribution of the Department of State Protection of Ukraine to the development of statehood. "It is very symbolic that you are the same age as Ukrainian independence," he said.
Oleksandr Korniyenko stressed the important function of the DSP as a state law enforcement body of special purpose and noted that now, in times of escalation and aggression by the Russian Federation, there are additional challenges to special forces.
Oleksandr Korniyenko, First Deputy Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament, presented honorary awards of the Verkhovna Rada to servicemen for their significant contribution to the provision of state protection for state authorities of Ukraine and senior officials, exemplary military service, high professionalism and on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Department of State Protection of Ukraine.
