Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk at the Conference of Ambassadors of Ukraine ‘Diplomacy 30. Strategy of the Strong State’ stressed the need to counteract attempts to legitimize the occupation of Crimea.
He noted, that The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine highly appreciates the PACE resolution on Human rights violations committed against Crimean Tatars in Crimea and the OSCE PA urgent resolution on destabilizing military build-up by Russia near Ukraine, in temporarily occupied Crimea, Sevastopol, Black, Azov Seas.
“Any attempts to include so-called ‘Russian State Duma deputies from Crimea’ in the interparliamentary forums or to include representatives of the Russian occupation administration in Crimea in Russian delegations to participate in the Assembly's activities should be blocked immediately, to question their legitimacy and receive a wide international resonance,” stressed the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine.
Instead, he said, “retaining representatives of Ukraine-friendly states in senior positions in the OSCE and PACE PAs is an important area of work with like-minded delegations.”
