Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk and the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyн took part in an event to commemorate the victims of the Holodomor in Ukraine, which took place at the National Museum of the Holodomor Genocide.
The memory of the victims of the Holodomor was also honored by First Lady Olena Zelenska, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak and Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal. The participants of the ceremony placed symbolic compositions from spikelets to the sculpture “Bitter Memory of Childhood”.
“Today we all unite and honor the memory of the innocent victims of the Holodomor of 1932-1933. Yes, it is a painful memory. At the same time, it makes it clear how important it is to keep what we have gained at such a high price. Only together can we pass all the tests and find the truth, no matter how much it is hidden from us. Wherever you are, remember and honor the memory of the victims of the Holodomor in Ukraine,” Ruslan Stefanchuk urged.
The Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine joined the traditional action ‘Light a Candle’, observed a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the Holodomor in Ukraine and got acquainted with the exposition of the National Museum of the Holodomor Genocide.
