Chairperson of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov called for an impartial investigation into the circumstances of the accident with the possible participation of People's Deputy Oleksandr Trukhin. He stated this during the briefing on August 31.
According to the Speaker of the Parliament, in case of confirmation of the facts of offenses - there should be a harsh reaction. “There is no government or opposition in this issue. The law must work for everyone. I will personally make efforts so that law enforcement officers are not put under pressure,” Dmytro Razumkov said.
The Speaker of the Parliament also expressed hope that Oleksandr Trukhin would react to the situation and clarify it. “I don't think we should pause here. It is necessary for a person to come out and say what really happened, so that we do not engage in speculation now. I hope that my colleague will do it,” Dmytro Razumkov stressed.
The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada also commented on the information regarding the participation of Oleksandr Trukhin as a member of the Ukrainian delegation during the visit of the President of Ukraine to the United States of America. According to Dmytro Razumkov, the Parliament did not delegate people's deputies on business trips. “The Parliament of Ukraine does not send any MP on the business trip to the United States as part of the President's visit, because it is not within the competence of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine,” Dmytro Razumkov said.
