Ukraine will be able to return the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea and Donbas if it works together with international partners to achieve this goal. This was stated by Chairperson of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov during his speech at the inaugural Summit of the Crimea Platform.
"Since the first day of independence of free Ukraine, Crimea has been, is and remains the territory of our state. We know it, we remember it and we will do everything to make it so," Dmytro Razumkov said.
The Speaker called on international partners to join forces to help Ukraine restore its territorial integrity.
"The Russian Federation separated Crimea from the mainland of Ukraine with barbed wire and checkpoints. But it will never be able to mentally divide the Ukrainian citizens who live here and who live there. Because it is a single nation, it cannot be divided by border guards, ditches or trenches. This is a nation that has undergone great trials in its history. And, as always, we will win," the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada emphasized.
Dmytro Razumkov noted that today Ukraine celebrates the National Flag Day.
"I would like the blue-yellow flag to always fly over all free, peaceful cities of Ukraine - from Lviv to Donetsk, from Chernihiv to Ukrainian Sevastopol. And it will be so. But in order for this to happen as soon as possible, we will need to work hard with your help, coordinating efforts, developing joint strategies that would be further translated into action," he said.
According to Dmytro Razumkov, the activities of the Crimea Platform will take place at the Presidential, Parliamentary and Governmental levels. He also added that on August 23, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine at the extraordinary session will begin the parliamentary dimension of such work.
