Ukraine must return not only the temporarily occupied territories, but also those people who now live in these territories and on the line of contact. This was stated by Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Dmytro Razumkov during working visit together with Speaker of the Saeima of the Republic of Latvia Inara Murniece to Donetsk region.
"It is fundamentally important for us to return the territories and those people who live in the temporarily occupied territories. It is very important for Ukraine to have support from colleagues, our partners, in particular, the Saeima of the Republic of Latvia, who have been helping us for many years," he said.
During the visit of Dmytro Razumkov and Inara Murniece to the Donetsk region, the Latvian delegation handed over humanitarian aid to residents of frontline settlements. The Speaker of Parliament thanked the Latvian side for the continued support of our state.
"On different platforms, in different formats, but we always feel support. This is assistance at the PACE level, joint work within the framework of "Baltic Plus" and providing opportunities for our servicepersons, who were injured, to undergo rehabilitation in Latvia," Dmytro Razumkov stressed.
During their stay in Donetsk region, the Speakers of the Ukrainian and Lithuanian parliaments honored the memory of servicepersons who died defending Ukrainian territorial integrity and sovereignty.
In addition, Dmytro Razumkov and Inara Murniece talked to local people.
