Chairperson of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov together with First Deputy Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk, the Deputy Chairperson Olena Kondratiuk and the Heads of the Committees honored the memory of the liquidators of the Chornobyl catastrophe on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the accident. The participants of the ceremony laid flowers at the memorial to the "Chornobyl Warriors" and the memorial mound to the "Heroes of Chornobyl".

“This tragedy took many lives immediately after the accident. And, unfortunately, today Chornobyl continues to take lives," said the Speaker of the Parliament, adding that radiation pollution had a negative impact on both the environment and human health.

Dmytro Razumkov also noted the human factor, which played a significant role during the Chernobyl disaster. "Everyone in their place must remember that every action, every step is important. Because the life of those around you, the life of the country can depend on it. This responsibility is significant. I say this about politicians, officials, the military, doctors, and those who gave their lives for our state," he noted.
