Dmytro Razumkov signed the Law of Ukraine “On Amending the Law of Ukraine ‘On State Assistance to Families with Children’ Regarding Provision of Assistance in Connection with Pregnancy and Childbirth and Effective Use of Budget Funds When Financing One-Time In-Kind Assistance ‘Baby Package’”

Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov signed the Law of Ukraine “On Amending the Law of Ukraine ‘On State Assistance to Families with Children’ Regarding Provision of Assistance in Connection with Pregnancy and Childbirth and Effective Use of Budget Funds When Financing One-Time In-Kind Assistance ‘Baby Package’” (No. 5064).

The Law of Ukraine No. 5064 “On Amending the Law of Ukraine ‘On State Assistance to Families with Children’ Regarding Provision of Assistance in Connection with Pregnancy and Childbirth and Effective Use of Budget Funds When Financing One-Time In-Kind Assistance ‘Baby Package’” amends the Law of Ukraine “On State Assistance to Families with Children”, in particular, the first part of Article 5 is set out in the wording according to which: assistance in connection with pregnancy and childbirth, assistance at the birth of a child, assistance in the adoption of a child, assistance for children under guardianship or custody, care for single mothers, care for children with severe perinatal lesions of the nervous system, severe congenital malformations, rare orphan diseases, oncological, oncohematological diseases, cerebral palsy, severe mental disorders, type I diabetes, acute or chronic kidney disease of IV degree, for a child who has suffered a serious injury, needs an organ transplant, needs palliative care, who has not been diagnosed with a disability, is appointed and paid by social protection authorities at the place of residence of parents (adoptive parents, guardians, trustees).

The Law of Ukraine defines the bodies of social protection of the population at the place of residence of parents (adoptive parents, guardians, trustees) as institutions allocating and paying state benefits in connection with pregnancy, sets the cost of the one-time in-kind assistance “baby package” at three times the minimum subsistence level as of January 1 of the respective budget year (previously, the provision specified no less than three times the minimum subsistence level as of the day of provision of the package).

The law is sent for signature to the President of Ukraine.
