"As of today, no official appeals have been received from the President of Ukraine or MPs. But first we can say that the extraordinary plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada will most likely take place on Tuesday at one o'clock in the afternoon. There may even be two extraordinary plenary sessions. One of them may be initiated by the President on a number of issues, including economic and coronavirus control," he told 'Ukrainian Radio'.
Dmytro Razumkov also said that the Secretariat of the Verkhovna Rada had issued signature sheets to the MPs to initiate an extraordinary sitting. "Most likely, it will also take place on Tuesday," he added.
The Speaker of the Parliament noted that at this sitting they plan to hear information from law enforcement agencies about the events that took place during the protest near the Office of the President of Ukraine on March 20, 2021, as well as consider the draft Resolution to assess those events (No. 5295).
According to him, the MPs, who initiated the extraordinary sitting, also offer to consider the issue of resignation of those MPs who have held positions in other authorities. In addition, it is proposed to consider the issue of calling the election of the mayor of Kharkiv and by-elections to local authorities in Lviv region.
"In general, I think the Verkhovna Rada can consider up to 17-18 issues on Tuesday," said the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
