“Sexist behavior has no place in the Parliament,” Deputy Chairperson of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Olena Kondratiuk

On the occasion of the International Women's Day, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is hosting the #NotInMyParliament action, initiated by Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Olena Kondratiuk and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

“The problem of sexist behavior within the walls of the Verkhovna Rada must be recognized. It is there, we need to talk about it, it should not be silenced, it cannot be tolerated. This must be fought. Explain, persuade, introduce responsibility for public manifestations of sexism, "Olena Kondratiuk emphasizes.

According to her, the attitude to the International Women's Day, initiated by the UN, also needs to change. “Because it is, first of all, about the awareness of women's rights in politics and economics. It is about the value of freedom of choice and respect, about justice and equal opportunities,” the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament emphasizes.
