Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov during the Conciliation Council of parliamentary factions and groups stressed that the Verkhovna Rada has never stood, does not stand and will not stand aside from people's problems. According to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ukrainian society expects an immediate response, including from the Parliament, to the increase in tariffs. In turn, the leaders of parliamentary factions and groups appealed to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine with a request to develop mechanisms as soon as possible that would allow them to compensate for the costs incurred by people in January. “To this end, we are ready to join both through regulations and through changes to the legislation and the Budget,” remarked Dmytro Razumkov.
However, the Speaker stressed that the meeting on the "tariff" issue, which took place during the lockdown in the Verkhovna Rada with the participation of leaders of the parliamentary factions and groups, the Prime Minister, representatives of relevant ministries, there were no representatives of the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities.
“I understand that we have independent regulators, but when it comes to people, we must work together, no matter what branch of government we represent and how independent or dependent we are. Because we are all dependent on the people who elect us, appoint us and pay us wages,” noted Dmytro Razumkov.
The Speaker added that there was a proposal to invite the leadership of the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities and hear information about what was happening in their area of responsibility. “I think we will be able to do it this week,” said Dmytro Razumkov.
The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal took part in the Conciliation Council.
