Chairperson of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov together with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal took part in the solemn events on the occasion of the Day of Unity of Ukraine.
“Today is an important holiday for the Ukrainian people. Ukraine still raises the question of uniting Ukrainians and restoring territorial integrity, for which, unfortunately, we have been fighting for many years, defending the interests, future and lives of our people,” noted Dmytro Razumkov. He added that Ukraine pays a high price for this struggle, as our servicemen continue to die in eastern Ukraine.
According to the Speaker of the Parliament, 102 years ago and now Ukraine must fight for its independence. “Both then and today, we must find something in common that unites Ukrainians, that allows us to preserve and develop our state, despite difficult conditions. The main thing is that we do not make the mistakes that were made in the past. Therefore, everyone needs to know and respect their history,” noted the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The participants of the ceremony laid flowers to the monument to Mykhailo Hrushevsky in Kyiv.
