“In fact, colleagues today are repeating the position held by me personally and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine,” he said.
Dmytro Razumkov reminded that after the decision of the Constitutional Court, which blocked the anti-corruption system in Ukraine, the working group was set up in the Parliament to work out bills to resolve the situation. The Speaker stressed that the Court's decision damaged Ukraine's reputation among international partners and called into question the work of the country's entire anti-corruption infrastructure.
“But on the other hand, we must take into account and pay attention to those positions that are reflected in the decision of the Constitutional Court. The Constitutional Court, in spite of everything, is an independent structure. And neither the Verkhovna Rada nor other state authorities can influence him. These are the balances that must exist,” explained Dmytro Razumkov.
The Speaker also expressed hope that next week the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine would consider bills that would restore the effective work of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption.
