The Speaker noted that the working group was working on bills in three areas. According to the first of them – the resumption of criminal liability for false declarations – the Verkhovna Rada has already adopted the relevant Law.
“In parallel, two bills were registered on Monday, which will allow to restore the normal functioning of the NAPC, taking into account the decision of the Constitutional Court of October 27. And the third block is about what needs to be done for the Constitutional Court to be effective,” said Dmytro Razumkov.
According to him, the decision on the Constitutional Court will be the most difficult, despite the fact that the working group works in a coordinated and efficient manner.
The Chairperson of The Verkhovna Rada added that a large number of bills had been introduced concerning the work of the Constitutional Court – from various factions and groups, as well as from the President of Ukraine. Dmytro Razumkov reminded that the President had asked not to consider his initiative until the conclusion of the Venice Commission.
According to the Speaker of Parliament, there are two key bills that can receive support from MPs. The first initiative envisages that the Constitutional Court will rule by a two-thirds majority, and the second proposal is to increase the quorum of judges to make a decision.
