Parliamentary Leaders and deputy factions and groups representatives discuss with the ambassadors of the G7 countries the resumption of effective activities of anti-corruption bodies.
During the meeting it was stressed that the Parliament agrees on the need to restore the effective operation of anti-corruption bodies and the work of the e-declaration system as soon as possible, in particular the return of criminal liability for declaring false information.
The ambassadors were informed that a working group had been set up in the Parliament to address three key issues: restoring responsibility for false declarations; creation of really effective mechanisms of the anti-corruption bodies work, and also balancing of conditions of the authority’s activity, in particular the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the need to quickly make an appropriate decision. Work is currently underway on a single bill that combines the benefits of a document prepared by the parliamentary working group with an initiative by the President of Ukraine.
Finding a compromise solution will help restore the e-declaration system as soon as possible and minimize the risks of appealing against agreed changes to anti-corruption legislation in the Constitutional Court of Ukraine
