The Parliament of Ukraine has every opportunity to consider the draft Law “On Democracy through All-Ukrainian Referendum” on December 1. First Deputy Chairperson of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk noted during the meeting of the Conciliation Council of Deputy Factions and Groups.

On December 1, we celebrate the 29th anniversary of the 1991 referendum, which confirmed the will of the Ukrainian nation to live in the independent state.

“On December 1, 1991, over 90 percent Ukrainians supported the Act of Proclamation of Independence of Ukraine. Therefore, I urge everyone on this historic day for Ukraine to proceed to the consideration of the draft Law “On democracy through all-Ukrainian referendum”, which was introduced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy,” stressed the First Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
According to him, many discussions were held during the preparation of the bill and, in the end, a compromise was found, positive conclusions of the Venice Commission and support of all national and international institutions were obtained. Almost 500 amendments were taken into account.
According to the First Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, despite 20 days of self-isolation due to coronavirus disease, work on the ‘Plan of Legislative Work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for 2021’ continues.

“Representatives of the Office of the President of Ukraine and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine were involved in the approval of the Plan. Therefore, I sincerely hope that in the near future the ‘Plan of Legislative Work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for 2021’ will be submitted to the Parliament of Ukraine,” noted the First Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
