It is important for Ukraine that other countries of the world recognize the Holodomor as genocide of the Ukrainian people

Acting Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Olena Kondratiuk, together with chairpersons of the parliamentary factions and committees, honored the memory of the victims of the Holodomors in Ukraine.

According to Olena Kondratiuk, the Holodomor is a terrible tragedy for the entire Ukrainian people. “We must remember and know these pages of our history, the whole world must know them, the memory of the dead must live in our hearts,” sha said and thanked all those countries that recognized the Holodomor as genocide of the Ukrainian people.

Olena Kondratiuk stressed that Ukrainian diplomats still have a lot of work, because it is very important for Ukraine that other countries will also recognize the Holodomor as genocide of the Ukrainian people. “We must preserve historical memory, which must be based on truth. And as many people as possible should know about it – so that such tragedies do not happen again,” stressed the Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
