Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Olena Kondratiuk informed about the current state of affairs in the Parliament. According to her, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine works in the usual mode, hardware meetings are held and together with the Parliament's Secretariat the stable functioning of the institution is ensured.
“Unfortunately, 27 MPs and 34 employees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Secretariat have the coronavirus. We wish our colleagues and all those who are currently ill a speedy recovery.  As for the restoration of anti-corruption legislation and the resolution of the constitutional crisis, a working group of the Parliament is working on it. The working group includes representatives of all parliamentary factions and groups, as well as three profile Committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine,” Olena Kondratiuk reported.
As Acting Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada noted, the meeting of the working group is held behind closed doors so that nothing hinders the search for optimal and professional ways out of the situation. Under certain conditions, this format of work of deputies is necessary and acceptable in European parliaments.
“I hope that by December 1, the working group will present to the public the relevant bills – a common vision of how to return electronic declaration and responsibility for false declarations and how the constitutional crisis will be resolved,” emphasized Olena Kondratiuk.
She also stressed that the Parliament is concerned that the Government has not yet submitted a revised draft of the State Budget of Ukraine for 2021. “The Parliament is ready to consider the draft State Budget for next year in the second reading as soon as it is ready,” said Olena Kondratiuk.
