Address by the Chairperson of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the occasion of the Day of Dignity and Freedom

Ukraine is a state of free people who at different times of its history courageously defended the right to freedom, independence and the opportunity to move forward. Today, on the Day of Dignity and Freedom, we commemorate the events that took place on our path of European development, as well as the heroes whose courage and civic feat influenced the course of history.

There are brave and courageous people living in Ukraine who daily defend the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the country, work for the benefit of their state, defending personal and social justice. This places a huge responsibility and duty on all of us - to do everything to ensure peace and tranquility in our country, and to do everything to make everyone feel safe and confident in the future. We have to work hard and join forces to implement better living standards and European rights and freedoms.

Despite the challenges that so often face Ukraine, we have one goal - to build a democratic, independent and economically strong country. And I sincerely believe that with daily honest and painstaking work, balanced and thoughtful steps, we will achieve it together!
