The Chairperson of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine signed the Laws of Ukraine Aimed at Providing Additional Funds to Combating COVID-19 and Financing the Coal Industry

Chairperson of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov signed the Laws of Ukraine on Amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine and the State Budget of Ukraine for 2020, which provide additional sources of funding for the Fund for Combating Acute Respiratory Disease COVID-19 in the amount of UAH 8.9 billion. In particular, to ensure the readiness and response of health care facilities to coronavirus outbreaks, to provide medical care to patients: to purchase personal protective equipment, reagents, test systems, medical devices, disinfectants, to purchase medical and laboratory equipment, to implement effective and high-quality treatment and more.

Also, the issue of payment of wage arrears to miners is finally resolved. In total, the coal industry will receive UAH 1.4 billion in additional funding to restructure the coal industry in order to repay arrears of wages to employees of state-owned coal mining companies.
