It is important to use global best practices in implementing an effective “state in a smartphone” concept,” -- Dmytro Razumkov

As part of his official visit to the Republic of Estonia, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine visited the well-known electronic administration centre “e-Estonia”, where he got to know how Estonia’s e-government system works.

“Today, Ukraine is rapidly developing in the IT and digital areas, including our public sector.  We have an ambitious task - to create a "state in a smartphone", where the vast majority of government services will be provided online.  That is why it is important for us to study world best practices in this field and to implement leading-edge technologies in Ukraine,” the Chairman stated.

«We are making today our first successful steps in Ukraine: we have launched the application "Diia" as well as the “Maliatko” service.  Of course, we would not be able to create e-Ukraine within some nine months, but I am sure we will manage to do that over time,” the Verkhovna Rada Chairman assured.

The speaker also then stressed that Ukraine is gradually becoming an electronic state and that such a process is relevant to the world as a whole.

“The levels of technology development in 2005 and 2020 seem to be completely different platforms from which we start moving to the said e-state. Besides, we already have the example to follow and whom to learn from, which is also a great plus for Ukraine,” Dmytro Razumkov emphasized.
