“Everyone should remember that there are no wrong, ‘outside’ children,” – Dmytro Razumkov

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov took part in the conference "Ensuring Children’s Rights under an Armed Conflict" taking place on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

In his speech, he noted that as much as possible the parliament would be involved in addressing the problems facing the victims of the armed conflict in eastern Ukraine.

“During the conflict, 150 children were killed according to the ombudsman's official records alone.  It's not a mere statistics - it's a tragedy for all of us. But the more frequently we meet and talk about it all over the globe, the sooner we can return peaceful life to cities, villages, homes; the sooner we could re-bring smile to our children's faces,” the speaker stressed.

Dmytro Razumkov also underlined that the Verkhovna Rada does understand the problems currently facing the victims of the conflict and would make every effort to create more comfortable conditions for the displaced. Safeguarding the rights and interests of the child is the state's primordial mission.
