The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Apparatus’s chief Viacheslav Shtuchnyi took part in the meeting of secretary-generals of parliaments of the Eastern Partnership (EaP) states

The introduction of a network of secretary-generals of the Eastern Partnership countries aiming to enhance parliamentary staff capabilities has become one of the polar topics of discussion during the meeting of secretary-generals of the EaP countries’ parliaments on 23 October 2019 in Strasbourg, France.

The VRU Apparatus’s chief Viacheslav Shtuchnyi underlined the importance and the relevance of multilateral cooperation at the level of secretary- generals.

According to him, at the meeting there were discussed prospects of cooperation and interaction with European partners, exchange of experience in conducting functional audit of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, as well as issues of digitalization, electronic document management (circulation) and introduction of electronic systems.

The discussions also focused on common challenges facing the parliaments apparatus and ensuring effective and sustainable cooperation.

Among other things, there were considered possibilities for organizing trainings in the framework of multilateral cooperation, parliamentary oversight and use of IT technologies, digitalization of workflow, etc.

The meeting was also attended by the Secretary General of the Assembly Wojciech Sawicki and secretary-generals from Armenia, Georgia (Sakartvelo), and Moldova.
