“Canada and Ukraine will continue working together to implement ongoing reforms,” – D.Razumkov
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov met the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Ukraine Roman Vashchuk.
The speaker thanked the Ambassador and the Ukrainian diaspora in Canada for their all-out support of Ukraine and expressed confidence that Canada would continue to be a good friend to Ukraine.
The participants of the meeting discussed bilateral cooperation and mutual assistance. Dmytro Razumkov announced, in particular, the parliament's immediate plans to reform Ukraine’s judicial system. According to him, this will have a positive impact upon the development of Ukraine’s court system for sure.
Talking of the close and productive collaboration between all branches of government, the speaker stated: “Despite the high pace of adopting laws, this does not impair their quality. We can and do work for the benefit of our state".
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada also stressed the importance of settling the conflict in the east of the country.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Ukraine positively observed the close interaction of public authorities and their ‘operational stability’.
Roman Vashchuk offered support of the Canadian government in reforming Ukraine’s judicial system and training Ukrainian policemen and guardsmen, as well as assistance in consulting services.
“We want to be where you need us to be. You can count upon our quick response,” the Ambassador stated.
