“Enhanced cooperation with IMF is a positive signal for investors,” -- Dmytro Razumkov
Continued cooperation with the IMF mission is a positive signal for foreign business and international partners and the key to a successful future for Ukraine. Dmytro Razumkov, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, expressed this opinion during his meeting with representatives of the IMF mission to Ukraine headed by Ron van Roden.
Dmytro Razumkov thanked the IMF representatives for their support and continuous advisory practice. “We appreciate your work that does help to carry out the necessary reforms Ukraine is in need of. I hope that we will build up long-term, transparent and understandable relations for both sides,” he averred, emphasizing that there is a unique situation in the country at present where all verticals of executive power work as a dedicated team for the sake of success and positive changes in the country.
The speaker of the parliament assured the representatives of the IMF mission that the whole parliament is ready for further effective collaboration and fulfillment of Ukraine's obligations.
“We are open for dialogue, we are open for cooperation and for constructive changes in the country,” Dmytro Razumkov stated. At the same time, the politician expressed his hope for the IMF's support in economic, political and advisory matters.
In his turn, the head of the IMF mission to Ukraine observed the positive changes in the country's economy and the cohesion of the steering team. Ukraine has been able to overcome a deep economic crisis and new opportunities are now emerging for a number of structural reforms.
According to Ron van Roden, it is very important to maintain the achieved macroeconomic stability and independence of the National Bank of Ukraine. He also complimented Ukraine’s draft state budget for 2020 and expressed his hope that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine would support this document. The IMF representative also assured of further cooperation and provision of the necessary consulting services.
