Andriy Parubiy, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, delivered today his address to the conferees of the 40th Annual Forum of Parliamentarians for Global Action and the 10th Consultative Assembly of Parliamentarians on the International Criminal Court and the Rule of Law, that take place in Kyiv on November 16-17.
“Holding such a respected international forum in Kyiv, the capital of the state, which in a fierce struggle with the Russian aggressor defends now its desire to be an integral part of a free civilized world, does testify recognition of Ukraine's achievements in the development of democracy, the establishment of high ideals of humanism and the principles of the rule of law.
Since 2003, Ukrainian parliamentarians has actively cooperated with the influential international organization "Parliamentarians for Global Action", supporting domestic reforms pointed at strengthening justice, protection of human rights and improving international cooperation in this sphere.
Ukraine consistently advocates for strengthening international and internal criminal justice and preventing the most serious crimes that concern the global community, such as genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes and aggression,” said the Chairman.
He wished the participants fruitful discussions and new promising ideas aimed at effective protection of fundamental civilizational values.
