Opening the morning plenary meeting, Andriy Parubiy expressed his sincere condolences to the family and relatives of Kateryna Handziuk, a renowned public figure and an adviser of Kherson’s mayor. He reminded she had died in a Kyiv hospital on the 4th of November.
He stressed her death must not remain unpunished.
The Chairperson of the Ukrainian Parliament believed firmly that this fact alongside attacks on social activists must come under rapt attention of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. He then clued up the audience of much consideration over triggering a parliamentary ad hoc inquiry commission fit for further canvassing over the chamber.
A.Parubiy stressed it had been agreed that after speeches of the faction heads, this proposal would be put to the vote. Should it be voted for, there would be then invited officials from the General prosecutor's office, the National Police and the Security Service of Ukraine to render their accounts on the issue.
Afterwards, the Chairman pronounced a moment's silence.
