The Parliament’s Chair A.Parubiy held a meeting with Miroslav Laichak, the Slovakian Foreign Minister

During the meeting, the parties discussed strengthening and intensifying bilateral cooperation, in particular, its parliamentary component, strengthening political dialogue, collaboration at various international platforms and development of cross-border cooperation.

The Chairman expressed his gratitude to the Slovak Republic for the constant support of Ukraine "at all international platforms" and noted that "Ukraine is counting on Slovakia's support to maintain solidarity within the EU over sanctions against Moscow".

He thanked Slovakia for helping Ukrainian children in the ATO zone.

"We are experiencing difficult times of aggression from one of the largest military powers in the world.  And this is not only militaristic aggression, but also informational, economic, and energy," said A.Parubiy. He then also stressed that "Slovakia's position on gas transit is very important to Ukraine".

The Head of the Parliament expressed his wish to meet with the President of the Parliament of Slovakia.

In his turn, the foreign minister M.Laichak thanked "for the opportunity to meet" and said that his visit to Ukraine was the first since returning from New York, where he had completed his mission as the President of the United Nations General Assembly.

He stressed that "Ukraine is an important partner of Slovakia".  "I have come to reaffirm our support to Ukraine’s independence and territorial integrity, our support of the path of reforms that has taken place in Ukraine over the past four years," said the minister, and assured that his country "is ready to support this process both bilaterally and internationally”.

"We are ready to share the transformation experience, which we have also passed," he added in conclusion.
