On Saturday, after a serious illness, a prominent Ukrainian, an author of the Act of Independence of Ukraine, a Ukrainian dissident, a member of the Ukrainian Parliament for many convocations and a hero of Ukraine Levko Hryhorovych Lukianenko passed away.
"It is a great pain and a great loss for all of us!" stated the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine A.Parubiy at the beginning of the plenary meeting on Tuesday. He then called on parliamentarians to honour the memory of Levko Hryhorovych with a minute of silence at the session hall, where the late politician had worked for many years.
"May his memory live on forever and eternal glory to Levko Hryhorovych!"
