The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine informed that on June 9 the Parliament of Ukraine would hold an international conference to establish the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine
At a meeting of the Conciliation Board on Monday, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy informed that on June 9 the Parliament of Ukraine would hold a wide international conference initiated by the Speaker.
"I have invited Moldovan and Georgian friends to attend the Conference of Parliamentary Chairmen. Here in Kyiv, together we aim to announce the creation of a joint Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine," he said.
According to the Speaker, this is “very important and symbolic step, because the fates of our peoples are very close, our three states are members of the Eastern Partnership with the EU and are striving to become full members of the European Union and NATO".
A.Parubiy observed that of special significance was the fact that all the three countries had experienced a Russian military aggression then resulted in territories occupied by Russia so far.
"We are united to speak clearly and firmly in one voice. We are united to effectively oppose the Russian aggression and the threats to our security. We are united for the sake of a better and more secure future for our peoples!" he stated.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada notified the audience that parliamentary chairmen of other European countries, and, in particular, the countries of the Baltic-Black Sea Belt, as well as parliamentarians of the European Parliament and US congressmen would take part in the conference.
A.Parubiy invited Ukrainian parliamentarians to join in this important international parliamentary event.
