The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy sent a written request to the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine regarding the detention of Ivan  Bubenchyk, a civil activist.

At the start of the morning plenary session, the Chairman informed those in attendance that the day before he had had a blunt talk to the Prosecutor General about the caption.

According to the politician, there was agreed that he would address a written request to the Prosecutor General on behalf of the Parliament, urging for a competent response till dusk.

“It is unacceptable, - said A. Parubiy, - that the prosecutor, who represents the Prosecutor's Office in court, notes that "the amnesty law passed by the Ukrainian Parliament is regarded as void instrument"”.

It is a strong belief of the Chairman there should be a special investigation and assessment of such statements made by the prosecutor who must comply with the laws approved by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

Once the above response is received, the Chairman shall inform the House and all the faction whips accordingly.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine also reminded that today at about high noon the House would hear the head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office Mr Nazar Kholodnytskyi and the Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine Mr Artem Sytnyk.
