Chairman pays homage to atom heroes

The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy honoured memory of the liquidators of the Chornobyl disaster.

The Chairman of the Parliament put a flower arrangement in national colours to the memorial sign "Warriors of Chornobyl" and put flowers to the Memorial Mound "Heroes of Chornobyl" in Kyiv.

The ceremony was attended by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Presidential Administration, the clergy and public figures.

The participants paid tribute to the liquidators with a moment of silence. Performed then there was the national anthem of Ukraine.
