It is the Chairman’s desire that the State of Ukraine pays more attention and shows greater concern over Ukrainian communities abroad “so that they could feel support from Mother Ukraine”.

In his meeting with the Ukrainian World Congress President Eugene Czolij (Yevhen Cholii), the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy talked over the education reform problems, and offered a deeper involvement of the Congress in the activities of international organizations. He also said, there must be more attention to Ukrainian communities abroad “so that they could feel support from Mother Ukraine”.

He then informed the President of the important resolution recently approved by the PABSEC General Assembly on Wednesday at the plenary session. The paper reads it is utterly inadmissible to have the territorial annexation and violations of the territorial integrity, and that the lands occupied must be liberated.

Coming back to education, there was stated firmly no compromise may be applied on the issue of language and no crucial change in the education law is ever possible save some would-be rebound extentions. “Hundreds of years has Ukraine been undergone russification, that is why we shall not take a step back on the language issue,” said the Chairman of the Parliament resolutely.

A.Parubiy then expressed his gratitude to E.Cholii for his “at times unseeable yet extremely significant work”.

In turn, the President E.Cholii delivered a review over the Congress’s enlightenment activities throughout the world.

“Ukraine is getting better and more modern. It matters little, whether Ukraine helps the Diaspora, way more important are the ways the Diaspora could assist Ukraine,” stressed the Congress President, and promised to consider the deeper involvement of the body in the activities of the international organizations in the future.
