Opening the plenary meeting, the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy congratulated the compatriots on the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language, having stated speaking Ukrainian language and marking the Day would contribute considerably in the Ukrainian identity formation.
'Today, Ukrainians all over the world are celebrating the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language. And I, too, cordially congratulate all of us on the Day,’ he said. ‘Western partners could help us pass through the ills, however formation of our identity is the travails of our own, as nobody but us would keep up our language, culture, history…”
