In his official visit to Poland with the aim to participate in the XXVII Economic Forum in Krynica Zdroj, the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy had a meeting with the Polish Senate Marshal Stanislaw Karczewski. The senator was thanked for the tight bilateral cooperation.

Andriy Parubiy recounted S. Karczewski of their joint decision to undertake that autumn an inspection round tour along the mutual border together with the Sejm’s officials with the view of further building of four border passageways more and overhaul of those in use. The Senate Marshal was also invited to support that initiative in person. “The visa free travel caused huge number of Ukrainians toing and froing across the border daily, dozens of times as much. So we are urged to scale up quantity of the border passageways,” stated A. Parubiy.

The senator was also informed about the UA Parliament Chair’s personal initiative to produce a joint official statement over menaces the Nord Stream 2 might bring. The Chairman called on the Senate Marshal to join fostering “A New European Plan for Ukraine”.

“We do remember that the Ukraine’s-sake plan’s idea came out first at the joint Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania in Warsaw, which you then presided,” the Chair noted.

The Senate Marshal thanked the Ukrainian Parliament’s Chairperson for his participation in the XXVII Economic Forum in Krynica Zdroj.
