Andriy Parubiy, the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine greets Ukraine’s paratroopers on the occasion of the Airmobile Forces Day
Fellow soldiers and veterans!
I am extending my warmest congratulations to the Ukrainian paratroopers on the Airmobile Forces Day. My sincere thanks to our special forces’ soldiers who are sacrificially defending Ukraine’s independence to have today gotten at grips with Putin’s armed occupants. It was exactly the airborne troops who were among the first to rush down to Donbas to fight against the Russian foe in 2014.
During the Russian aggression in Donbas and the Crimea, our warriors have held extremely challenging combat missions at the frontline and behind the enemy lines. I would just remind about some outstanding undertakings of the Ukrainian paratroopers – the legendary raid in 2014 and the valiant actions over Donetsk, Luhansk and Kramatorsk airports.
Within the past fifteen years since its creation, the warriors have served in peacekeeping missions to the Balkans, in Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ethiopia, Georgia, DR Congo etc., having obtained a good name among the fellow soldiers throughout the world. The forces’ motto “Nobody but us!” would just highlight their exceptional share in the fights for the Homeland.
This day has become not only the day of feast, but also the day when we commemorate the war dead in battles for Ukraine’s Independence in the ongoing Ukraine-Russia war. Let the fallen heroes be remembered forever!
Thank you for your self-sacrificing and difficult job. I am so proud to wish you and your families a sound health, fireside comfort and welfare. The Victory will be ours!
Glory to Ukraine!
