Andrii Parubii, the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expressed his sincere thanks to all the members of the Parliament who took part in the US Congress-Ukrainian Parliament memorandum preparations.
Opening today’s morning session, the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine reviewed his working visit to the USA in June 12-17, which gave Ukraine, among other things, the Memorandum on cooperation between the US Congress and the Ukrainian Parliament.
‘It is very important that the Memorandum calls Ukraine to be the outpost for defense of the West against the Russian aggression. I am sure the document signed will lift up our partnership to a new level of inter-parliamentary and international collaboration,’ denoted Andrii Parubii.
It is worth to
remind, during the visit the Chairman held a range of meetings with high
ranking US officials like Paul Ryan, Speaker of the United
States House of Representatives, Mac Thornberry, Chairperson of the Committee
on Armed Services of the United States
House of Representatives, Adam Smith, Ranking member of the Committee on Armed
Services of the United States House of
Representatives, Eliot Engel, Ranking member of the Committee on Foreign
Affairs, and Kevin McCarthy, Majority Leader of the United States House of
Representatives, the Unites States Department of State, the United States
National Security Council, other congressmen and senators.
He also celebrated the Congressional Ukrainian Caucus’s twentieth anniversary within the Ukrainian days in the United States Congress. The Parliament’s head met also with members of the Senate Ukraine Caucus; John McCain, Chairman of the United States Senate Committee on Armed Services and Jack Reed, Ranking member of the United States Senate Committee on Armed Services, participated in the conference ‘US-UA Working Group Yearly Summit V: Providing Ukraine with an Annual Report Card’, and rendered homage to the victims of the Ukrainian Holodomor Famine/Genocide of 1932-33.
