The Ukrainian Parliament’s Chairperson told in details on his ‘American diary’ which includes meetings with Paul Ryan, Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, Mac Thornberry, Chairperson of the Committee on Armed Services of the United States House of Representatives, Adam Smith, Ranking member of the Committee on Armed Services of the United States House of Representatives, Eliot Engel, Ranking member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, and Kevin McCarthy, Majority Leader of the United States House of Representatives, the Unites States Department of State, the United States National Security Council, congressmen.
One
of the visit’s key points is the bilateral security treaty to be discussed minutely. ‘It
is important step at this stage of strengthening of interrelations between
Ukraine and the United States,’ commented the Chairperson.
The deliveries of lethal weapons, which are today of high relevance to Ukraine, as well as intensification of the sanctions have also been raised by the Ukrainian Parliament’s Chairperson in the Pentagon. ‘The point is discussable and still open, it has not been shelved,’ he clarified. ‘The prospective release of the weapons is under consideration. It would technically be important as a meaningful sign of stiffened collaboration between Ukraine and the United States,’ he added.
